Writer, translator, and founder of Geppetto Studio. Twenty years spent on the line between people, technology and culture, from both sides of it.
I studied computer engineering and then spent most of my career writing. Those two things never stopped running in parallel, and this studio is what happened when they finally met.
I founded exteen.com, the blogging platform a generation of Thai writers grew up on, and ran it for seven years. I co-founded The MATTER and was its executive editor, and helped start Salt Publishing. I have written close to twenty books of my own and translated more than ten, most of them circling the same question: what is technology doing to us, and what is left that is ours.
On the commercial side I led social marketing at Netflix, then at Amazon Prime Video in Singapore, was Deputy Managing Director at BrandThink, and Chief Marketing Officer of Thairath Group, Thailand's largest media company, through its digital transition.
I now work under my own name and my own studio: building tools, writing, translating, and teaching organisations how to work alongside these machines. I also teach this as a course, because the method is more useful in your hands than in mine.
Why it is one person
Geppetto builds the bespoke thing that takes a business's operations off its hands, so the people in it can get back to what they are good at. One craftsman, one client at a time, five or six engagements a year.
That ceiling is deliberate. What you are buying is not capacity. It is that the person who sits through your interview is the same person who writes the code and hands it over, so nothing is lost in the translation between what you said and what got built.
Work this specific was never worth making before. Software used to cost enough that everything had to be sold to a thousand companies to pay for itself, which is why so little of it fits anyone. That arithmetic has changed, and a business of thirty people can now afford something made for it alone. That is the whole reason this studio exists.
